Music in the Key of Life
Robert Armand, born in Erie, Pennsylvania as Robert Armand Tirak, and grew up in the Mojave Desert in Southern California listening to acoustic music still popular in Southern California today. Currently his music encompasses many variations of acoustic and electric styles most folks identify as Post-modern blues style is influenced by many eras and genres, including folk, rock, jazz, pop and country. His songs cover many different topics.
At a young age Robert tended to be a bit of a loner and looked up to his grandfather Armando Azevedo, his namesake who was, among other things, an awesome grandfather and a musical actor. It’s in him Robert found his love in acting and music. Over the years Robert had been in a few TV commercials and as an extra in a few movies and began playing music in lounges, then special events such as the Jerry Lewis Telethon, fronting for 60's groups like Steppenwolf, Iron Butterfly, Roy Rogers, Jr., and performed at Stuntman's Hall of Fame events. It was a natural flow for Robert to begin some occasional booking of other music artist at fair grounds and other special events, in addition to raising money for charities.
But, for now, Robert is re-energizing and ready to start writing and recording his own songs and return to his love as a singer/guitarist/songwriter creating songs from the heart, and about folks he's met over the years.
